The first set was won by #TeamHaringey6 25-22, as the other team were unable to return Sammy`s and Toms amazing spikes, the second set was neck and neck at 24-24 but we managed to pull it back with Nazia`s excellent serving skills and it finished 27-25. This now means that #TeamHaringey6 has made it to the last 16 of the AoC Sport National Volleyball Mixed Cup, what an achievement. The next round is scheduled for 15 December against Bexhill, this will be a home match, so let`s all come and support #TeamHaringey6, once all has been confirmed. Ex-Detective, Sergeants, Police Officers and the Outreach Team from the London Metropolitan Police visited #TeamHaringey6 Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services students; where they conducted workshops to inform them of the Metropolitan Police Degree Apprenticeship Scheme.
The team spoke with #H6 students about the benefits of the scheme, the application and selection process as well as offering the students support with their applications.
They also spoke about their own experiences of what it is like to work in the force as a female, an ethnic minority group, a mother of young children working on paedophilia cases, the challenges of handling murder investigations as a detective and the day to day work of a Police Officer in the Met.
The students were engaged throughout the session and asked lots of questions. The Met staff conducted group discussions with the students which were very productive and it felt like real relationships were built in that very room. This was a very productive and engaging day for the Uniformed Protective Services Team and we are pleased to have built such a strong relationship with the Metropolitan Police who are looking forward to continue working with us.
