Choosing your Pathway
A-Level Pathways
At Haringey Sixth Form College we offer an exciting way to study A-Levels.
The A-Level Pathways are designed to move you a step closer to your future aspirations. We offer unique study packages entirely focused on providing you with the latest skills, experiences and qualifications to enable you to pursue a career or University degree in a particular area of interest.
A-Level subjects are grouped together into career pathways containing complementary subjects to help you choose the most appropriate course for your career goal.
More information and advice will be given during your interview.
Vocational Pathways
The College has specialised in Vocational Courses for several years, these can lead you directly to University, Apprenticeships or Employment.
Vocational courses are offered at a wide range of levels to suit everyone.
Studying on one of our Vocational courses involves continuous assessment mainly through coursework, practical work, related assignments, work experience, a small amount of externally assessed examinations and in some cases online tests.
Key Principles of Haringey Sixth Form College Study Programmes:
- Our programmes allow progression for students to a higher level than that of their prior attainment to meet clear educational and career aspirations.
- They include qualification(s) that are of sufficient size and rigour to stretch the student and clearly linked to progression routes to University or into employment.
- Study programmes ensure that those students who do not have GCSE grades 9 to 4 in English and Mathematics work towards achieving this or other interim English and Maths qualifications on the way towards achieving these GCSE qualifications.
- Our programmes allow for meaningful work experience (related to the student’s vocational area) or other non-qualification/enrichment such as sport, enterprise or drama activity to develop personal skills and/or prepare for university or employment.
