Our students made slime using PVA glue, Bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and contact lens solution - They had a fabulous experience of hands-on practical work.  Special thanks to tutors Lauren, Oliver, Burack, Tanisha and Maxine for their support.

#TeamHaringey6 Level 3 year 1 sport students completed a heart dissection with a HUGE help from tutors Pradeep and Anjna who lead and prepared the session for the sports students giving up their free time, without both members of staff this lesson would not have been possible. The learners were now able to physically see and label the different chambers and valves which they have been learning about for their Unit 1 - anatomy and physiology exam. This provided the learners with wider knowledge of the heart whilst consolidated learning from lessons. Pradeep was also able to provide a surprise of a pluck, which the learners could see how the lungs and heart were attached and they were then able to dissect this. The learners had a great time!

Our year 2 #Criminology, #Law and #Psychology students took part in a Stop and Search workshop this morning/afternoon. The session was very engaging and interactive where students were asked to become police officers and speak through what they would do in given crime scenarios. The officers guided the students through with video clips and questioning/discussions. The students were eager to ask questions on stop and search which the officers answered in detail and truthfully - When asked if they enjoyed the sessions, they all agreed that they did. #Amazing #VeryInsightful

Our Year 2 Level 3 #Criminology students had an exceptional opportunity to engage with a former detective who served in the Metropolitan Police for over 20 years. Having studied the context of criminal investigations in Unit 3: From Crime Scene to Courtroom, the students were eager to apply their analytical skills to practical tasks. They participated in a 'Gang Murder' workshop, where they examined a case and analysed the crime scene using the same techniques employed in real detective training. The workshop included a variety of hands-on activities, such as powdering for fingerprints, comparing shoe prints, and exploring odontology, which broadened their understanding of forensic science. This immersive experience had a profound impact on the students, as it not only illuminated potential career pathways related to their studies but also provided valuable insights into the psyche of criminals and the professionals who address these complex issues. #VeryIntense
