#TeamHaringey6 does Motion Capture #MoCap

Motion Capture (MoCap) technology, normally reserved for professional big budget studios and universities is now something that can be offered at a college level at #H6. 

This exciting trend opens up new avenues for creative students in Film making, animation, virtual reality and game design, allowing them to explore the realistic movement of a human body, all the way down to the individual digits on a person’s hand. This can also be extended to Sports and Science especially to visually see how the body moves and interacts with an environment.

With Industry links and technical knowhow - #TeamHaringey6 is uniquely equipped to provide a cutting-edge experience to students who will learn how to use up to three MoCap suits and multiple assets that can be created, finally the days of acting like a pirate with a cutlass and flintlock pistol are upon us.  In addition students will learn how to use and calibrate the motion capture cameras on a technical level and be able to use OptiTrack which offers a real time readout as students will act out their scenes.  They will gain valuable skills by organising suits and markers, keeping to a time table as well as system monitoring and getting to know what the cameras can and can’t do.

To Summarise, MoCap at the college level not only enriches education but also prepares students for the dynamic world of digital creativity.
