#TeamHaringey6 - September 2023 round up so far...

Our new term has started and what an amazing few weeks we have had so far.

We started our new term with new student inductions; we also did a freshers week with a twist which was held over 3 days - the first day consisted of students signing up and giving ideas of clubs and societies they were interested in. 

Day 2 was a careers day where we had Haringey Works, Into University, Haringey youth and Tottenham community sports centre come in and give students information about activities, workshops and information about what is going on in their local are which they can be a part of.

Day 3 were more club and society sign ups and also a day for students to give us more ideas of what they want to see within the college - they were also given information about money management and time management which is something that will support them in the long run especially if they decide to go into higher education and need to learn how to budget and spend their money wisely.

Special thanks to our Marketing and Enrichment Coordinator #Dominique and Careers Lead #Suzan for setting this all up - Also not forgetting our new #H6StudentAmbassadors #Nathan and #Lisa

#TeamHaringey6 CEO also presented at their first assembly of the new term to Gladesmore school and Heron Hall school - we felt very welcomed and it was amazing to see how their Yr11s were so enthusiastic and asked loads of questions.

Also this month we have a range of #Enrichment activities that have started after interest was given at induction so we put it out there for students and we have started some additional clubs - more clubs to follow:

 

  - Netball

 

Ladies Football - which is ran by #Spurs coaches

 - Table tennis

 

UCAS drop in sessions - based in the common room

#TeamHaringey6 ended the week on a high as we had New Parents evening…where we have parents/carers come in and have discussions with the child’s tutors about their progression…it’s also great to have our student ambassadors available for any queries and guidance.

We are excited for our students as they take these steps in preparing for their new journey and we are happy to be going through this journey with them.
