The Creative Industry is the second largest industry in the world, with the UK design sector leading in Europe. A-level Fine Art & Textiles is a two-year course which allows you to develop a range of skills and produce a strong portfolio of artwork that showcases a variety of techniques and materials.
What will I study?
- Textile specialist areas such as print, embroidery, knit, surface design and CAD, as well as other specialisms such as graphics, photography, 3D design and illustration.
- Themes and concepts by investigating a body of research through observational drawing and photography.
- Reflections on artists and designers from the past as well as taking inspiration from the best contemporary practitioners.

How will I be assessed?
- 60% personal investigation (supporting studies, practical work & personal study)
- 40% externally set assignment (preparatory studies & 15-hour period of sustained focus)

5 GCSE grades 9-4, with a minimum grade 6 in GCSE Art and a portfolio |
Our Tutors
Our teachers have extensive experience in Fine Art, Photography and Textiles & Fashion. While working as teachers is their passion, they still work in the industry with focus on their own art work. They maintain strong links with the industry in order to keep themselves up to date, as well as ensuring you have an experience which will equip you equally for higher education and work. Our teachers are your teachers.

While most of our artists progress onto Art Degrees and Art related careers, some progress onto engineering and architecture. Our students are you.
