Over the past 2 weeks our #TeamHaringey6 Buiness students worked in collaboration with Mr Robert Tripp of Solitaire Consulting & Fair Finance Ltd - they put together a mock interview process to help get students involved in the world of HR and to see first-hand how important it is for the recruitment and selection process that organisations use to attract potential employees to be practical, functional and effective in choosing the best person for a vacant job role.
This supported students as this was part of their assessment for Unit 8 Recruitment & Selection Process - Our students have benefited immensely from the process in the areas of skills development, knowledge of how to prepare and apply successfully for job opportunities and also a boost in confidence levels. Most of them now feel that they are ready for the world of work and can hold their own in any similar high-pressure situation in the workplace.
The entire process has taken a lot of time to put together and taking a lot more time to complete due to the numbers of learners involved (24 learners). Learners have had to be extremely professional in their approach in a number of ways including dressing in formal wear, juggling coursework and projects for other units, playing dual roles during the process (interviewee and interviewer) and meeting with Mr Tripp & Dan Searle to study and review applications of other candidates. Despite all of these, the students have impressed in their participation in all aspects.
Features include:
· students sitting with Mr Tripp and Dan Searle to carry out interviews.
· students dressed in formal wear
· students answering tough questions from the panel
Quote from Consultant and students:
External HR Consultant
I trust each candidate appreciated the opportunity to learn from the interview process and found value in the first-hand experience.
I have enjoyed working with yourselves and look forward to further developments as HSFC continues to deliver these excellent initiatives; equipping students with the essential skills for future success.
Student Luka:
From this experience as an interviewee, I learned the importance of preparation and practice in enhancing interview performance. Reflecting on my performance, I identified areas for improvement and recognised the value of seeking opportunities for growth and development. Moving forward, I am committed to investing time and effort into honing my interview skills to become a more confident and articulate candidate.
Outstanding contribution made by students showing how they gain #H6Experience and why we will continue to be #MoreThanACollege
