#TeamHaringey6 students take on Go Ape

This week our Level 1 Sport & Public Services went to Go Ape, Cockfosters as part of their course units where needed to participate in adventurous activities this included climbing high in the tree tops.

#H6 students were able to try something new and they were sky high in the treetops passing through different obstacles tree to tree. Learners first challenge was the Tarzan swing which were fear cannot be a factor. Learners swung across to the cargo net after that their confidence grew.

Our learners were given the opportunity to participate in water based activities at the Lee Valley White water Centre - challenges they faced were that they solely in charge of staying attached to the tree! they then had to learn how to attached themselves via a harness to the trees and different obstacles. 

Teacher Codi says: 

It was amazing to see our learners really leap out of their comfort zone and work together as a team to make t to the other side on Trent park! . They were all so well behaved and made our department proud as all learners gave it their all. I felt privileged to see them grow in confidence and the staff at Go ape were very impressed with our students. Some learners really surprised my with how brave and committed they were to complete the course and of course I had to show them how it was done! Massive thank you to Kalpesh who supported learners with their journey, and for Magdalena to support us on the ground without them this day would not have been so special! Such a nice ending to the year to see so many smiling faces and Very proud of them and a massive thank you to the staff at Go Ape, Cockfosters who supported our learners and made this experience one I don’t think they will forget!
