News / 16 June

#TeamHaringey6 students and teachers have been on high spirits this month especially as it is exam season and summer has finally arrived.

We started with our #H6 Inclusion Football Team having a terrific time going to St George`s Park; the training ground of the England Team, in Staffordshire.  They went along representing Tottenham Hotspurs, for the Street Soccer Academy National Cup.

Students were also greeted by the clubs CEO Keith Mabbutt and were taken to The David Beckham pitch and played 3 matches against the holders WestHam, Sunderland and Chelsea. What an amazing #H6Experience our students gained.

#H6 Business department had an Art Industry Mentor, Sandra King, visit the college to deliver mentoring support to Yr1 Business student Keona as part of her Unit 4 Managing an Event - this is developing a supportive well-being creative idea which involves all students and staff of the college to offer and write sincere words of support to newly enrolled and progressing students for next academic year 2023-24. Keona's idea is to present a large mural in the appearance of  the H6 acronym which embodies a variety of phrases/words of support from real individuals sharing positive affirmations for their forthcoming year. Keona is really excited about this venture and will be accepting participation/revealing her final product by Thursday 22nd June, on the Directorate Graduation Day...so watch this space! This shows #Success #Ambition and #Resilience #H6Proud

We have more business students organising an event as part of their unit - our Level 3 BTEC National Ext Dip Business students Nia and Sapphire event called 'Girls Talk' - The Women's Only Circle had guest speaker Dr Angela Herbert MBE who is a Transformational Coach & Chair of the Violent Crime Prevention Board. Girl’s Talk provides a space for females to express themselves freely, sharing their experiences and voicing their opinions. It fosters empowerment, self-expression, and the building of strong relationships among young women. Through these conversations women can challenge stereotypes and advocate for social change. Girls Talk is a powerful tool that enables women to connect, learn from one another, and collectively work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.

We are very #H6Proud of Nia and Sapphire and special thanks to their tutor #SilverKing

#TeamHaringey6 also had our Star Awards where we recognise our students through the Six C's - Can do/Will do, Caring, Committed, Connected, Courageous and Creative as well as the Student of the Year and Sports Person of the Year award.

As you can see from the photos we had an amazing turnout as we invited parents and carers to attend in support of students.

They were able to see why #TeamHaringey6 is #MoreThanACollege and we continue to show #Excellence in everything we do.

More photos can be found in the gallery.

This week has been #Amazing as our students continue to #DiscoverTheDifference and enjoy the #H6Experience looking forward to next week for more learning, new activities and fun stuff as we are #MoreThanACollege
