This course is a sound and beneficial introduction to the Hospitality & Catering world as a career choice.

You will discover the variety of employment types the industry offers, develop the practical skills required and investigate the materials, ingredients, and equipment used to fulfill the various roles.

What will I study?

  • You will learn a range of skills enabling you to pursue a career as a professional chef
  • The Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world offering a wide range of career pathways to sustainable careers
  • You will be learning in a state-of-the-art kitchen with industry-standard facilities and equipment
  • The qualifications cover the full range of skills required to work in the industry. These include patisserie, baking, chocolate work, fish, shellfish, meat, game, poultry, sauces, soups, and fruit and vegetables
  • You will also cover menu planning and design, food safety, and health and safety
  • We aim for all our learners to take part in valuable industry work experience which plays a vital role in preparing you for your career as a chef
  • You will be preparing and serving food for paying customers in our student café, giving you immediate experience in the hospitality industry

This course is 100% portfolio based at Levels 1, 2, and 3 internally assessed.

A few GCSE grades 3-1

3 GCSE grades 9-4

Level 3

4 GCSE grades 9-4, including English or Maths or Level 2 in Catering or related qualifications

Progression routes:

After completing the course, with good attendance and disciplinary records, you could progress to the next level of the course.

With the proper training, experience, and drive, the opportunities offered by the hospitality industry are huge.
