Applied Law Level 3
Interested in Law? Then study BTEC Level 3 Applied Law at Haringey Sixth Form College.
This is a one year course where students will undertake three legal units, including criminal law, the law of tort, law making, police powers and sentencing. Students will learn how to apply their legal knowledge to real life situations.
This course usually runs alongside two other A-Level subjects. Law goes well with most subjects; common combinations include English, History, Sociology, Psychology, Politics and Business, but it goes equally well with any subject including sciences.
You will study:
- A key aspect of BTEC Applied Law is to prepare for university and the workplace. You will have a number of opportunities during the year, some of which are unique to Haringey Sixth Form. You will have the opportunity to undertake work experience at RBS Legal and Allen & Overy. You will be able to attend visits to Parliament, The Royal Courts of Justice, The Supreme Court and the Old Bailey.We will visit a number of universities to understand more about applying and studying at university. Finally you will have the opportunity to see a number of key note speakers who will come into the college, including barristers and solicitors.
Where it leads:
Obviously a considerable amount of students who choose BTEC Applied Law do so with the intention of entering the legal profession, however it can lead to exciting careers in the Civil Service, Public Administration & Management, the Police, Banking, the Armed Forces and Social Work. Those who wish to pursue a career in the legal profession will receive advice and training on the process.
You must have four to five GCSE's grades A* - C, including Maths or English
